Responsibilities
- Actively participate in MS imaging data acquisition for facility users by analyzing samples. Provide feedback and guidance on theory and practice of imaging mass spectrometry. Engage in collaborative research with faculty and staff researchers, both in and out of UT-Austin.
- Consult with and teach users on use of instruments and analysis of results via one-on-one interaction. Create and administer training sessions/seminars to further the knowledge and skill of facility users.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshoot as needed.
- As needed, write progress reports, methods, results, and usage date for grants, publications and other necessary reports. Create and submit proposals as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
PhD in chemistry or biochemistry or related field. Extensive experience with running mass spectrometric analysis using a variety of ionization methods, particularly DESI and MALDI. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with imaging mass spectrometry is essential.
Salary
Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
